Armbruster Destemmers, Destemmer/Crushers and Pumps

The "Roto-Vib" Destemmer
The 2007 harvest saw the introduction of Armbruster's new "Roto-Vib" destemmer. This patented technology incorporates and oscillating destemming helix which allows selective "picking" of good berries to begin while allowing under-ripe or raisined fruit to pass through and out (with the stems). Though first trialed in Europe, the North Americans are the first to truly embrace the Roto-Vib concept. In their first year of production (2007), eleven units were installed in this hemisphere. In 2008, over 20 more Roto-Vibs are scheduled for delivery in the United States. Most often these destemmers are coupled with Vaucher Beguet grape sorting equipment to optimize fruit quality.
The AWF Destemmer Crusher
The AWF 8-15 is Armbruster's non-oscillating destemmer-crusher. It is an excellent choice for both reds and whites. As with the Roto-Vib, the AWF 8-15 features a new design plastic destemming cylinder (no more square holes), providing gentle handling for the berries. Options include variable frequency speed control and separate control of the pin shaft speed. Custom frames can be ordered to provide easy integration with upstream and downstream equipment. CIP systems are optional on larger models. Capacities vary from 8 to 50 metric tons per hour.
Armbruster Must Pumps
These integrated electric worm pumps are ideal for the gentle delivery of must. Feed augers are forced feed and made with stainless steel. Hoppers are on wheels for easy movement. Two step motors have delivery capacities that will seamlessly correspond with Armbruster Stemmer/Crushers. Pumps range in size from 8 to 50 tons per hour. Dry run protection is available as an option.
Note: Discounts available for same-order purchase of Armbruster destemmer/crusher and Armbruster must pump.
Vaucher-Beguet Vibrating Sorting Table Systems

Located near Lyon, France, Vaucher Beguet has been producing vibrating sorting tables, automated conveyer/elevator systems and other grape processing equipment for the French wine industry for decades. The Vaucher Beguet sorting tables are used extensively in the quality houses of Bordeaux and the Alsace.
The "TVETM 750" vibrating sorting table offers both benefits to wine quality and ease of operation. This table can be used both before and after destemming. Before destemming, bunches with rot or green berries can be easily identified and removed. After destemming, berries with jacks, vegetal matter, crushed berries, green berries and more can be removed from the lot. All waste and free run juice can be isolated and can be further separated, blended or discarded. Overall wine quality benefits dramatically from the selection of the finest berries, while still achieving a processing rate of up to 8 tons an hour!
This vibrating system also holds advantages over the competition as its motion is gentle preventing berries from "jumping" and it is incredibly easy to clean and sanitize (all stainless steel surfaces). The vibrating table also holds advantages over conveyer systems as product is immediately spread by the vibration, avoiding clumping of product. Sorting tables are available in lengths from 3.5 to 6 meters which can accommodate from 4-12 workers.

VAUCHER-BEGUET mistral® line

There are now over 40 automated berry sorting systems in North America in locations ranging from British Columbia to Ontario and from Walla Walla to the Napa Valley. The Mistral® system, by Vaucher-Beguet, utilizes various components to segregate clean, sound berries from waste (ranging from green matter to raisins and broken berries). The system also has the capacity to further segregate waste and clean product into distinct quality
levels depending on the winemaker’s desired selectivity. The photos below
show manually harvested fruit, pre-destemmer, and the resulting waste and clean product that the mistral line segregated. This was done without a
single worker sorting on the line. Currently available models can optimally
sort 4-5 tons per hour, 8-10 t/hr and 18t/hr.
